This Life is a Race

Life is a race. Each of us has a different race to run and a different speed in which to take it. Each one of us has choices to make as we go through life. Choices of how dedicated we want to be or not to be. How quickly we end the race will be determined by our dedication and distractions we allow to step in and affect our progress. We can be more effective or less effective in or walk or run through life. Another choice is given to us.

We can bring people with us as we go or we can create stumbling blocks to place in their path to prevent them from running/walking with us.  If we allow others to come along beside us we can build them up as well as have a greater support group for ourselves to encourage us as we are on our journey. It is not always a matter of one foot in front of the other. Sometimes we have to motivate ourselves to step out of our comfort area and do something a little scary and unusual for us. When we do this, we inevitably make much greater progress, than if we had chosen to continue doing the same thing we had been doing.

If we have a plan/map it is easier to know where to go and where the turns are.
We can get to our destination much faster. If we do not have a plan we can easily become confused or discouraged. We can hesitate because it seems too overwhelming of a task to accomplish. With a plan we can stick to what we know what to do and some of the decisions we have already made before we get to the point of decision or action. Therefore no wavering, or question as to what action is to be taken, and less confusion or hesitation.

I believe that is why God gave us a map, and guidelines for this race we call life. The Bible is God's Holy Word. It gives us guidelines and direction as well as a big picture of the rest of the story. It gives support, strength, and encouragement to continue and not give up. Talking of motivation? Yes, this gives us motivation and tells us why we are running or walking this race. It tells us why "the race" matters and why we matter. Sometimes this is the one thing we need to go forward when things get the most difficult. We ask ourselves the following. Why am I doing this? What was the reason I started this in the first place? What is the benefit of all the sacrifices that I am making for this to be done? Where am I going with all this effort? God's plan is the best design. Well thought out and all factors are included. This design is His plan. Our race of life is in His plan.

Day 2

Well it's been a few days since I posted anything. We have been really involved in many things going on. My daughter and her family were here a few days and boy does that change things up. It is a delight to have them over. We have so much fun with them playing, chasing, tickling, teasing and watching their expressions and responses as they learn. We can never get enough of them.  The babies are our grand-babies. River will be 1 year old in 5 days and Roman is 3.  Having children that young around, our schedule is adjusted differently than what has become normal for us. It takes a different type of expectations and schedule for the littles because their needs are so many and become priority.  Yes, that does mean sacrifice. Oh wait that is the meaning of parenting isn't it? Ha! Who knew parenting would be described as sacrifice and work. The rewards are so much greater than what the sacrifices are and also last much longer. I love being a parent.  I have enjoy...
Dear Holy Father,  I am humbled to be viewed as precious in your eyes. Thank you for taking on my sin so that I could take on your righteousness. Please help me to see myself as you see me, help me to thrive in your beauty as a woman of worth. Show me what you have created me to be and show me what gifts you have given to me. I know that I was made for a purpose and I know that everything I need to accomplish that purpose is in me. Father, I ask you to open my eyes so that I can see me the way you see me, with your glory and your beauty. Help me to understand my part and all that you have given me to do in this life. Thank you, my heavenly Father, for making me complete. Your love is more than enough, your Grace is more than I can understand and more than I deserve. Yet you gave it all to me just because you love me. You continually show me who I am in you. I love you, my Father.

Super Hero Sidekick

We host the Holy Spirit wherever we go. We are his transport the Holy Spirit is not our servant. He is like Alfred is to Batman. You live like Batman, in secret, doing good. God says, "I will reward you in the open, like Bruce Wayne. What would Batman be, without Alfred? Alfred was his guide, his conscience, his best friend. Batman walked away from all of it because it wasn't helping his heart. He came back for Revenge. As he was working towards that, even the opportunity for Revenge was taken from him. At his lowest point, he chose to do it God's way. Alfred suggested this way when Batman was in combat training to be a ninja. He was driven by his passion for Revenge, when he hit rock bottom at the end of himself he was able to hear the Holy Spirit and do it His way. Super-Man has nothing. He has no sidekick and turns away anyone that offers to help him. He acts like he needs only himself but comes up short each time. Lois Lane has him wrapped around her finger he...
